Prerequisites

• You must have passed the second-year diploma examinations or have completed your second year of the Bachelor's programme with all the required credits (before you leave)
• Knowledge of the host country’s language or the willingness to learn it

Timing

The following semesters are most suitable for a student exchange:

The fifth and/or sixth semester of the Bachelor's degree programme.

If you are attending the Master's programme you may carry out a research project or write your Master’s thesis at the host university. You must have the consent and approval of the professors responsible .

Please be asware of the following conditions:

Master's degree programme

Students are generally advised to undertake either a research project or a Master’s thesis at the host university. A maximum of 30 credits may be recognised. If you are taking part in the Master's programme it is essential to consult the study advisor for your area of specialisation.

Bachelor's degree programme

ECTS that are recognised at ETH Zurich and that may be listed in the Bachelor’s transcript may be acquired at the host university, provided that the ETH Zurich courses and those at the host university are considered equivalent. Here it is essential to plan your study period away carefully and to consult with the Director of Studies.
